Good jobs for all New Yorkers is a top priority for NYC. The Mayor's Office of Data Analytics works the Economic Development Corporation, the New Business Acceleration Team and the NYC Digital to support NYC's greatest source of new jobs: small business entrepreneurs.

New Business Acceleration Team

Working with NBAT, MODA assessed the time-to-open for new food service establishments, from the time that they finish their business plan and secure their lease to the time doors are open to customers.  The analysis found an average 45 day reduction in time-to-open for businesses that worked with an NBAT, receiving NBAT-navigator assistance, reviewing construction plans, and to coordinating multi-agency inspections. Knowing the impact of NBAT will help the City expand support, and further reduce time-to-open.

NYC Business Atlas

New Business in New York City have many choices to make when creating their business plan. MODA worked with the Department for Information Technology and Telecommunications to create the NYC Business Atlas. The Atlas provides entrepreneurs with detailed information about economic activity, demographics, foot traffic and other key business metrics around locations they are considering.
