Lyvette Soto's Biography

Lyvette Soto is a Bronx native and Latina photographer, whose work has been nominated for exhibits, professional photo development workshops and a labor art contest.

She graduated with her bachelor's degree in communications from Brooklyn College. She loves creating new pieces of photography every day and hopes to one day own her own studio. She has been a volunteer for New York Cares, the Bowery Mission soup kitchen, and CUNY Service Corps in Puerto Rico. She received the opportunity to go three times to Puerto Rico to help construct homes that were affected by Hurricane Maria, falling in love with the island.

After college, Lyvette decided to join AmeriCorps CitySquare and volunteered in Texas for six months with partnering organization All Hands and Hearts. It was a huge step moving from New York to Rockport, Texas. This decision transformed her life and made her a stronger person.
