Laura McKenna is an experienced editor and marketing professional for publishers of foreign language textbooks, and as a marketing manager and coalition leader for nonprofits focused on housing and emergency preparedness. She is a staunch advocate for language equity, valuing New York City's many cultures and ethnicities, and reaching non-English-speaking communities, especially before and after disasters. Laura has presented on multi-lingual emergency communications as a guest speaker for NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and NYC Emergency Management. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Cornell University, where she studied French, German, Spanish, and Arabic; and a Master of Arts in Psychology from New York University.
