Lina Montoya (Ele Eme) is a prolific visual artist. Graphic designer, muralist, and arts educator, from Medellín, Colombia, based in NYC since 2010.
Embedding her cultural heritage in her art, a bilingual speaker who connects deeply with Latinx and immigrant communities, a teaching artist focused on art creation and education. Over the past decade has developed more than 70 community-based visual public art programs, including artistic residencies at NYC schools, private commissions, collaborations with other artists, city agencies, and community-based organizations.
Founder of the LMProject, an artistic initiative to exchange “Magical Experiences” through socially engaged art for public space beautification and transformation. Founder of “La Isla Bonita Festival”, a cultural event established in 2015 that would celebrate Staten Island’s diversity.
