Mitchell Wu

Mitchel Wu is the Director of Queens Community Services for the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC), which provides Intergenerational services, including an early childhood center, youth services, workforce development, adult literacy, immigration counseling, a senior center, and services to families with special needs. Prior to joining CPC, he served a nearly nine-year tenure with The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF), working with member agencies, young people, and parents to advocate for social change. Prior to CACF, Mitchel worked with a variety of programs to support immigrant, English Language Learner, and first-generation college students in California and New York. Mitchel is also serving his fifth term as the NYC Public Advocate’s appointee to the Citywide Council for English Language Learners as President of the Council. Additionally, Mitchel is a lecturer at CUNY Hunter College in Asian American Studies. Mitchel is a Queens, NY native, who graduated from Cardozo High School and received his BA from SUNY Stony Brook and his Master of Arts in Ethnic Studies from San Francisco State University.
