New York Hall of Science & STEAM at NYSCI’s STEM NIGHT
New York Hall of Science STEM Nights are free events designed for high school and college students who are curious about exploring careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM Night series is a program of the NYSCI’s Alan J. Friedman Center for the Development of Young Scientists.
The NYSCI STEM Night program featured several panelist ranging from Electrical Engineers to Product Designers representing a broad range of industries. The New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) Steam Initiatives participated in the seminar at the New York Hall of Science in Queens. The workshop hosted approximately 220 college and high school students along with parents and school teachers. Students received information on DDC’S High School/College Internship Programs. Students and families also viewed former DDC STEAM High School Internship on DDC videos and had their questions answered directly by STEAM Team members. Students from all five boroughs learned about pipeline opportunities in a broad range of DDC departments such as Public buildings, infrastructure, and the Office of the Chief Architect.
