NYC DDC Introduces Civil Engineering to Elementary School Science Fair Participants

On Saturday February 22, 2020, Tinc Road Elementary School in Mount Olive, New Jersey held their annual Science Fair. The annual event attracts students, parents, high school seniors and volunteers. There were approximately 40 participants displaying their models and posters describing scientific methods and observations. The Mount Olive High School Robotics team also brought their award winning robots to the fair along with other entities such as Siemens Healthineers and Atlantic Health Systems.

Bobby Issac, a Geotechnical Engineer and Director of DDC’s Coastal Resiliency and Infrastructure Design Division, introduced student participants to day to day aspects of Civil Engineering. He also shared his experience working for DDC and the Coastal Resiliency Division. Other STEAM professions were represented by a variety of medical professional, doctors, nurses, military equipment modelers and cosmetic chemical engineering scientists.
