NEW YORK (January 24, 2022) - "The recent fatal attack on Michelle Go in our transit system is yet another sobering reminder of the repeated anti-Asian hate our City has seen in the last two years, which included a number of older adult victims. Together we take a stand against any hate-based acts against Asian American and Pacific Islander New Yorkers of all ages," said New York City Department for the Aging Commissioner Lorraine Cortés-Vázquez. " It is incredibly lamentable to have to issue yet another statement against any hate-based acts on the AAPI community. If you see something, say something-- immediately call 911, report the incident, and provide help when someone needs it."
