About

A Certificate of Fitness is required to working under the direction of a licensed pyrotechnician are to monitor the safety of pyrotechnic and flame effects/acts and assist in the extinguishing of such effects/acts.

This Certificate of Fitness is valid only for the specific person to whom it is issued and can be used anywhere within New York City.

  • New Application Fees: $25
  • Renewal Fees: $5
  • Renewal Cycle:  One Year

Before You Submit Your Application

This Certificate of Fitness can be obtained by passing a written exam. All applicants should review the notice of exam and Study Materials.

Applicants who need to take the exam must apply in person and bring the following documents

Must have an F-03/F-04 Certificate of Fitness for at least 1 year.
