FDNY Holds Line of Duty Plaque Dedication for Emergency Medical Technician Frederick D. Whiteside

The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) Commissioner Robert S. Tucker will preside over a plaque dedication ceremony to honor Emergency Medical Technician Frederick D. Whiteside on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Emergency Medical Dispatch, PSAC II at 350 Marconi Street in the Bronx. Whiteside, a 22-year FDNY veteran, experienced a cardiac arrest while working at a New York City 911 Dispatch Center in the Bronx on November 17, 2023. EMT Whiteside was appointed to the FDNY on April 19, 2002. He spent his career in the Bronx and in Brooklyn, working in EMS Division 2 and EMS Division 3, and had been working in EMS Dispatch since 2019.

EMT Whiteside was the 1,160th member of the FDNY to make the Supreme Sacrifice in the line of duty.
