Statement of Mayor Eric Adams and FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker on Critical Injuries to Brooklyn Firefighter

Mayor Eric Adams and FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker announced Sunday that a firefighter was critically injured in a fire at 1133 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn. The firefighter was operating at a second-alarm fire when he suffered a medical episode and went into cardiac arrest. 

The firefighter was immediately treated by FDNY EMS and rushed to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where was treated for his critical injuries. He was transferred to Lenox Hill Hospital for continued care.

The FDNY is withholding the member's name and company pending complete family notifications.
