FDNY Honors More than 200 Employees Celebrating Service Milestones

May 13, 2016

On Friday, May 13, 2016, FDNY employees celebrating milestones in their careers were honored at FDNY Headquarters. More than 200 men and women from nearly every bureau in the Department were recognized for reaching 45, 40, 35, 30, 25 and 20 years of service to the city.

Assistant Commissioner Gerry Neville from FDNY’s Bureau of Communications and Jeanette McClarity, a clerical associate who works in civilian payroll, were honored for 45 years of service.
“I’ve been fortunate to work in every part of Communications over the past 45 years. I have and continue to work with good people and I try to make a difference,” said Assistant Commissioner Neville.

They are joined by Frances Dempsey and Margaret McFadden from legal enforcement; EMT Guy Nichols from Emergency Medical Dispatch; Haydee Tineo, a procurement analyst in the Bureau of Fiscal Services; and Estelle Priesel and Ligia Veras from the Bureau of Fire Prevention; who each celebrated 40 years of service.

“In a Department as large the FDNY, every contribution matters, every task helps us continue the life-saving work that New Yorkers depend on all of us to perform,” said Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro.  “This annual ceremony is about recognizing each one of you - the many people who have spent their careers enhancing and supporting the mission of the FDNY.”
