Caroline Carney is chief information officer (CIO) and deputy commissioner for the New York City Department of Finance.
Caroline is an experienced information technology executive with a long and proven record leading and managing customer engagement and collaboration software development and support teams for the City of New York. As CIO, she is responsible for overseeing DOF’s Finance Information Technology organization, which provides support for all facets of the agency’s computer systems, applications, data security, and network infrastructure while delivering IT solutions to meet DOF’s objectives and the needs of New Yorkers.
Prior to joining the Department of Finance in 2017, Caroline worked for 10 years in City IT leadership roles, including as acting chief of staff of the Mayor’s Office of Technology and Innovation and earlier in IT director positions for DoITT and for NYC 311. She holds a Federal CIO Certificate from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Trinity College.
