New York, NY— New York City Announces Availability of Online Payment Plans for Parking Ticket Debt Entering into a payment plan for parking tickets in default can prevent future enforcement actions, such as having a vehicle booted or towed. New York, NY – The New York City Department of Finance today announced the availability of online payment plans for parking tickets that have not been paid and are in default – known as judgment debt. Those with $350 and more in parking ticket judgment debt can now enter an online payment plan with DOF to make payments over time instead of paying all at once, which can prevent enforcement actions such as having a vehicle booted or towed.
“This administration is committed to clearing away the bureaucratic hurdles that make it harder and more time-consuming for New Yorkers to access basic city services. This new online payment plan will provide an easier and more seamless experience for those looking to pay off their parking tickets,” said New York City Mayor Eric Adams. “We encourage any New Yorker who has outstanding parking ticket judgment debt to take advantage of this service as soon as possible to prevent enforcement against their car, like being booted or towed.”
“Understanding that financial hardships or other challenges can arise, the Department of Finance is excited to offer New Yorkers our new online payment plan system for a more convenient way to pay off parking ticket debt,” said Department of Finance Commissioner Preston Niblack. “Entering into an online payment plan with DOF and making payments in installments can prevent future enforcement actions, so don’t delay and enter an online payment plan today.”
