The New York City Department of Correction Bangladeshi Correction society (BCS) is one of the fastest growing fraternal organizations in the department founded by Correction Officer Kazi Hasan along with other Bangladeshi Officers in January 2018 and Departmental recognition was received in January of 2020 as a fraternal organization. At that time, there were only a handful of Bangladeshi officers in the department and so they decided to form this society to share common interests, committed to empowering, supporting, educating and development of its members, whilst assisting and communicating with geniality towards the community.
The mission of the NYCD Bangladeshi Correction Society has been formed to support uniform and non-uniform active and retired members of the Department of Correction by working together to empower, educate and reinforce their knowledge of the Department’s Rules and Regulations. Ensuring that we familiarize our members with newly implemented practice and procedures of the Department. In addition, the organization will be able to help recruit more Bangladeshi American into law enforcement, assist fellow members of the service attain their professional goals and be a helping hand in time of need. The BCS also promote cultural diversity and awareness within Law Enforcement agencies as well as understanding and communicating between the Department and the community.
