Call for Art
Submit your artwork for potential use on our construction fencing!
What: This is an invitation for residents of the Two Bridges neighborhood to submit artwork to be printed on BMCR construction fencing under the FDR Drive.
When: Submissions due by Friday, December 13, 2024. Selected artwork will be displayed in Spring 2025.
How: Drop off your submission in boxes at the locations listed below, including the form (linked below). Alternatively, email bmcr.ccl@gmail.com to organize a pick-up or make a digital submission. Artwork will be returned to participants. See submission rules below for more information.

- What does New York City mean to you?
- What makes the Lower East Side / Two Bridges great?
- Why is it important to protect NYC from climate change?
- What does climate resiliency mean to you?
Submission Rules:
- Artwork must be the original work of the submitter and cannot contain copyrighted images.
- Artwork must be designed to be installed on a flat surface.
- Artwork should be submitted in landscape (wide) format and will be printed at 61” x 144”.
- For Online Submissions: email bmcr.ccl@gmail.com. If selected, final digital images will be required to be at least 150 dpi at full size. The size limit for upload in our online portal is 10 MB. If you are unable to upload a hi-resolution .jpg or .png image under 10 MB, save and upload a lower resolution image with the application and add a note in the submission form. The ESCR team will coordinate the digital delivery of the final hi-resolution image with selected artists. Artwork files should be saved as ‘First Name_Last Name_Title of Art’
- For Physical Submissions: Recommended size for submission is 11” x 17”. Submissions wider than 30” cannot be accepted. If selected, physical submissions will be scanned and enlarged to the dimensions above.
- Artwork is limited to one entry per person.
- The artist’s name should not be included on the front of the artwork.
