Tate Hausman has served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Mayor’s Public Engagement Unit (PEU) since February of 2023. Since joining PEU, Tate has led the scaling of PEU’s administrative teams to better support the unit’s outreach efforts. This has facilitated an increase in strategic outreach and helped our outreach teams connect directly with New York City’s most vulnerable communities.
Tate brings over 20 years of experience in government, advocacy, philanthropy and political campaigns. In New York City government, he worked at the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice and NYC Department of Corrections before coming to PEU.
Outside of work, Tate is a proud NYC public school parent, former PTA Treasurer, and active NYC dog park enthusiast. Tate is a graduate of Brown University. With a family history that goes through Flushing and the Lower East Side, Tate calls Brooklyn home.
