Four Additional Honorees to be Celebrated at “Made in NY” Awards on June 16
NEW YORK - The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) is proud to announce the selection of Celia Costas as the next “Made in NY” Award recipient. The Emmy-award winning producer is known for her work on numerous productions filmed throughout New York City, including tick, tick... BOOM!, The Intern, Annie, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, and Angels in America. The award will be presented by MOME Commissioner Pat Swinney Kaufman on March 26 at the 45th Annual New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) Muse Awards, al celebration that honors women of vision and achievement in the media and entertainment industry who have used their platform to break barriers, elevate others, and inspire the next generation of leaders.
Celia Costas will be the first of five “Made in NY” award honorees in 2025. As previously announced, the “Made in NY” Awards ceremony will return after a 10+ year hiatus on June 16 to Gracie Mansion. The event is being reinstated now to celebrate individuals and/or groups in NYC's film & TV industry. The additional four honorees will be announced closer to the show date.
“We are thrilled to honor legendary producer Celia Costas, a dynamic force in the world of film production, with a ‘Made in NY’ award at this year’s NYWIFT Muse Awards, the first of five ‘Made in NY’ awards to be presented to NYC film & TV trailblazers in 2025,” said Commissioner of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, Pat Swinney Kaufman. “A born and raised New Yorker, Celia has been celebrated for bringing complex, impactful stories to life and for giving back to the local community by helping to guide and foster the next generation of filmmakers.”
Established in 2006, the “Made in NY” Award recognizes the achievements of people and organizations that have made significant contributions to New York City's entertainment and digital media industries over the course of their careers. Prior recipients of the “Made in NY” award include Alex Borstein, Danielle Brooks, Robert De Niro, Tina Fey, Caroline Hirsch, Spike Lee, Audra McDonald, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Rosie Perez. Additionally, last year’s 44th Annual NYWIFT Muse Awards will be broadcast in partnership with MOME’s NYC Life – the lifestyle channel for the City’s broadcast network NYC Media – in celebration of Women’s History Month.
