Emergency Housing Voucher Program

Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) Program

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded a limited number of Emergency Housing Vouchers to the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD).

The EHV Program helps families and individuals who are experienceing homelessness; at-risk of homelessness; fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking; or recently homeless and at high risk of housing instability to find housing by subsidizing a portion of rent based on their income.

The EHV Program is helping thousands of New Yorkers like Danasia and her son, pictured to the right, find housing. Here they are holding the keys to their new apartment!
