PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT in accordance with Section 1045-j (3)and 1045-j (9a) of the Public Authorities Law, public hearings will be heldon May 5, 6, 7 and 8, 2008, concerning proposed rates and charges to beeffective July 1, 2008, for the use of, or services furnished, rendered ormade available by the Water and Wastewater System of the City of New York(the “System”). It is anticipated that there will be a change from currently effectivewater rates and wastewater charges for services provided by the System, to beeffective commencing July 1, 2008.

  1. Metered and unmetered water rates will increase by an amount not toexceed 14.5%.
  2. Wastewater charges will remain at 159% of water charges.

Oral testimony will be limited to five (5) minutesduration. A copy of any prepared or written statement may be submitted to theWater Board at the above address by the close of business May 2, 2008.
