Police Commissioner James P. O'Neill on the 17th Anniversary of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks

September 11, 2018

"September 11th is an extremely important day — not just for New Yorkers, but for everyone across our nation. Today, I believe we should all take time to think about how that morning 17 years ago really changed our world — the sacrifice, the bravery, the courage. It's important to remember those we lost that day and each day since for nearly two decades. It's equally important to remind their families, friends, and colleagues who continue to suffer that we will never forget them or their loved ones. So, today and every day, we remember each life. We honor them. And as we make our way forward together, members of the New York City Police Department are relentless in our efforts to keep safe all the people we serve, in every neighborhood of our great city."
