World Smile Day

Harvey Ball, a freelance artist, was hired by an insurance agency in 1963 to create a smiley face for their friendship campaign. Many years later, in 1999, the first Friday of every October was coined “World Smile Day.” The goal of this day is to “do an act of kindness—help one person smile.” On this day there are many ways to practice acts of kindness. Let’s celebrate!



Smile

Seemingly small gestures have the potential to lift your mood. Try:
