Free Yoga Classes

Taxi Yoga is geared toward professional drivers and individuals who sit for prolonged periods of time. It combines disciplines from Tai Chi, Yoga, Nei Kung, Feldenkrais and Western Sports Medicine.
When:  Sundays from 9am to 12pm & Mondays from 7-9pm

FREE HSE Program   FREE produce at Mariners Harbor
The Brooklyn Public Library can help you prepare for the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) which has replaced the GED test or the National External Diploma Program (NEDP). 

TASC preparation classes are available in English and Spanish.

Visit the basketball court directly in front the Senior Center located at 22 Roxbury Street, Staten Island, NY 10303 from 9:30 am- 11:30am. Bring your photo ID and separate matching proof of address. Each household may register only once. Call the Mobile Market Hotline the day before (866) 444-0244. Visit City Harvest for more information about mobile markets in other boroughs.

Free - Alley Pond Adventure Course Pet food pantry

The Alley Pond Park Adventure Course features a zip-line, climbing and boulder wall, swings, balance platforms and much more!  It also promotes team-building and problem-solving skills. Open to individuals ages 8 and older.

Every Sunday from September 2 – October 29, 1:30-3:30pm

Animal Care Center (ACC) has a pet food pantry available to dog and cat owners who may be experiencing economic difficulties. Pet owners must bring their pet in for a free microchipping and sign an enrollment agreement to begin receiving pet food.
Location: ACC Admissions Center, 464 East Fordham Road, Bronx, NY 10458
Hours: 8am-8pm, 7 days a week

Driver Spotlight - Thierno Diakhate

A Q&A with Thierno a yellow taxi driver who once helped the NYPD catch a bank robber.

Q: How many years have you been driving professionally?
A: 4 years

Q: What are your favorite things about being a driver?
A: The fact that I know New York City so well and also I meet people from all around the world. It’s just amazing.

Q: Have you driven any celebrities?
A: I love soccer and I had the pleasure of driving former Real Madrid player Esteban Cambiasso and his family.

Q: What has driving professionally taught you?
A: Driving professionally taught me a lot about things such as cultures, religion, and friendships. For example, I got advice from passengers to continue my education.
