Heat Monitoring Dashboard
The Board is conducting comprehensive heat monitoring in NYC jails this summer to ensure the safety and well-being of people in custody. Data collection began on May 31 and will continue through August 30, 2024.
As part of this effort, we have launched a Heat Monitoring Dashboard that will be updated every Monday. This near real-time monitoring of daily conditions will allow early identification and resolution of any issues. A final staff report summarizing our findings will be issued in October 2024.
