The New York City Charter Revision Commission will hold public hearings across the five boroughs. The hearings are open to the public and the public will have the opportunity to testify before the Commission on any aspect of the Charter.
Any member of the public may sign-up to speak during the hearing segment of the evening. Testimony should be limited to three minutes in duration. Please assign one representative from each group, organization, or institution to speak on behalf of the entire group. Everyone wishing to speak will be afforded an opportunity no matter what time they arrive during the hearing.
Written testimony is also encouraged and may be submitted in person at the public hearing, by email to comments@charter.nyc.gov, or through the “Send Comments to the Commission” link on the Commission website at www.nyc.gov/charter (on the “About” page). All public hearings and meetings will be livestreamed at nyc.gov/charter.This location is accessible to individuals using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. Induction loop systems and ASL interpreters will be available. In addition, with advance notice, members of the public may request interpretation into the following languages: Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese), French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu. Please make language interpretation requests or additional accessibility requests by 5PM no later than 4 calendar days before a hearing date by emailing the Commission at requests@charter.nyc.gov or calling 212-386-5350.
