Health care providers can play a central role in reversing the epidemic of opioid analgesic misuse and overdose deaths. Because of this, the Health Department has conducted several public health detailing campaigns, consisting of office-to-office educational outreach visits with physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners on judicious opioid prescribing. Brooklyn is the focus of the 2017 opioid analgesic detailing campaign. During visits, Opioid Analgesic Action Kits that contains useful provider and patient resources are being distributed, and is also available electronically below. We hope you will use the kit to help decrease opioid analgesic misuse and its health consequences among your patients.
