“As we turn the page on four years of relentless attacks on immigrants and move towards a recovery, we must embrace our immigrant neighbors and help ensure they reach their fullest potentials in our communities. That starts with breaking down the barriers to opportunity and investing in strong inclusion programs at the local level. The New Deal for New Americans will provide the kinds of reforms that will empower our immigrant residents to become full participants and help make stronger and more vibrant communities for generations to come. We applaud this bold legislation and urge Congress to pass the bill as another critical step in our work to achieve real immigrant justice.”
