Internship Programs
Allied Health Career Pipeline Program (Hostos)
Allied Health Career Pipeline Program will train individuals to become Community Health Workers (CHWs), Health Information Technicians (HITs), Home Health Aides (HHAs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and New York State Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs). The Pipeline Program also offers health-career contextualized TASC™ exam preparation for individuals who do not have a high school diploma or its equivalent. TABE testing is required.
Medical Billing Specialist Training (SBS/NYACH)
Healthcare
Prepare for a career in medical billing and for positions with large healthcare providers with this 5-month, hands-on training program. No healthcare experience needed. Upon completion receive a LaGuardia certificate of completion; nine college credits towards a Business Administration/Healthcare Management major at LaGuardia Community College lasting 5 months. Applicants must be 19+.

FDNY Exploring Program
TThe FDNY Exploring Program is part of the Greater New York Councils Exploring Program. The Exploring Program allows New Yorkers (aged 14 to 20) to gain valuable insight into a career at the Fire Department, while simultaneously building plans for their futures. The innovative program helps participants gain work experience and assistance with educational and fitness requirements that are critical to successfully pursuing a career at the FDNY. Participants also develop contacts with FDNY Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics, and others already on the job. NYPD Explorers
The Law Enforcement Explorers program provides young men and women from the City’s diverse communities with an introduction to a career in law enforcement or a related field in the criminal justice system. The program, geared for ages 14 to 20, often results in strengthening ties between the community and police. Explorers are taught the importance of higher education, self-discipline, and respect for diversity and human dignity through training, involvement in community service projects, and other exploring events.

Summer Youth Police Academy
The NYPD Summer Youth Police Academy is one of several innovative, effective programs that the Department provides for young people in New York City. The program gives young individuals between the ages of 10 and 16 the opportunity to train with police officers during the summer, leading to positive relationships between the Police Department and the City’s youth.
