JanArtsNYC: MOME’s Signature Month-Long Celebration of Live Entertainment – NOW through January 27 |
• For 10 years, JanArtsNYC has helped to position January as “Performing Arts Month” in NYC, where the world’s best come annually to premiere the newest works in theater, dance, opera, music and performance.

NYC Public School Film Festival: Applications Open – NOW through March 7 |
• The NYC Public School Film Festival, which honors the diversity of student voices, is presented by MOME and the NYC Department of Education (DOE), and is open to all middle and high school students.
• The 5th annual festival will take place in Spring of 2023.

Cinematters: NY Social Justice Film Festival – January 16 & 18 |
• Building on the success of the first 3 festivals and national conversations about racial and social justice, Cinematters presents impactful films that engage the community toward a more democratic, inclusive, and just society.

NY Game Awards – January 17, 8pm |
• Presented by The New York Videogame Critics Circle, the 12th annual awards show will be a live and in-person event at the SVA Theatre, honoring the world's most innovative and talented game makers.

‘Made in NY’ Post-Production Training Program: Cycle 15 Begins – January 30 |
• MOME’s Post-Production training program, presented in partnership with Brooklyn Workforce Innovations (BWI) and the NYC Department of Small Business Services, is part of the ‘Made in NY’ series of workforce development initiatives, meant to prepare New Yorkers for entry-level positions in editing, graphic design, motion graphics, and visual effects.

NYC Film Green Webinar: Fuel Reduction Strategies for the Transportation Department – February 2, 5-7pm |
• MOME’s NYC Film Green series offers free resources to help local productions reduce their environmental impact in the areas of waste management, energy and fuel use, and sourcing.

Urban Fellows Meeting – December 21 |
• MOME Commissioner Anne del Castillo met with the newest cohort of Urban Fellows to discuss MOME’s work.
• Urban Fellows is a nationally recognized and highly competitive, nine-month fellowship program that explores current urban issues through unique learning seminars and first-hand exposure to public sector leaders.

IATSE Studio Mechanics Grip and Shop Craft Training – December 17 |
• Deputy Commissioner Kwame Amoaku met with students of the IATSE Studio Mechanics Grip and Shop Craft Training program at Local 52 Union Hall in Queens.
• This training, part of the MediaMKRS series and presented in partnership with Reel Works, prepares early-career professionals for union jobs in the Shop Craft department in film and television production, serving to strengthen the industry’s infrastructure.
