JanArtsNYC: MOME’s Signature Month-Long Celebration of Live Performance – January 2024:   
•   For 11 years, JanArtsNYC has helped position January as “Performing Arts Month” in NYC, where the world’s best come annually to premiere the newest works in theater, dance, opera, music and performance.

“A New York Evening with…” Series – January 2024:
•    In partnership with MOME, the GRAMMY Museum presents an intimate performance and conversation this January as part of an ongoing series:
    ○  Rachel Platten - Thursday, January 18 at The Greene Space at WNYC and WQXR.
ReelAbilities Extends Deadline for Summit Panel Proposals:
•    The 16th Annual ReelAbilities Film Festival: New York will be held April 4-10, 2024, and will include the ReelAbilities Industry Summit.
•    The two-day summit gathers industry professionals to discuss topics of accessibility, inclusion and representation in all aspects of the film and performing arts industries, and explore beyond the basics into progressive best practices.
•    Festival organizers are actively seeking proposals for session topics to be presented as part of the Industry Summit.
•    To submit a session topic proposal prior to the deadline at 11:59pm on January 31, please visit the ReelAbilities website here.
Winter Film Awards - February 21-25:
•    The 12th Annual Winter Film Awards International Film Festival includes 82 outstanding films, a diverse mixture of animated films, documentaries, comedies, romances, dramas, horror films, music videos and web series of all lengths.  
•    The five-day event is jam-packed with screenings and Q&A sessions at NYC's LOOK Cinemas, six education sessions/workshops, a variety of filmmaker networking events and a red-carpet gala Awards Ceremony.  
•    The Winter Film Awards is dedicated to showcasing the amazing diversity of voices in indie film and the 2024 lineup is 58% made by women and half by or about people of color. Filmmakers come from 23 countries and 41% of films were made in the NYC area. Thirteen films were made by students and 26 are works from first-time filmmakers.

NYC Media Announced Development of New Series:
•    NYC Media, the official broadcast network and production group for the City of New York, and Next Millennium Productions (NMP) are proud to announce development of a new television series The NYC Field Guide: How to Thrive in the Five, hosted by Emmy-award winner Micaela Birmingham.
•    The 13-episode series will feature 30-minute episodes offering unique tips, hacks and expert information from celebrities, New Yorkers and NYC officials for how to live, work and play in the five boroughs of New York City.
•    The NYC Field Guide: How to Thrive in the Five will air in 2024 on NYC Life (WNYE-TV), the City’s Emmy Award-winning lifestyle channel that has been providing residents with entertaining, non-commercial, educational programming for the past 56 years on the NYC Media television network.

JanArtsNYC Events Kick Off in NYC:
•   Commissioner Kaufman celebrated JanArtsNYC by attending 2 events last week -
    ○   The Under the Radar Symposium which convened 250 arts presenters, producers, service organizations, funders, and artists for rigorous, facilitated small-table discussions, for the goal of envisioning emergent paths for a stronger sector of national and international performing arts.
     ○   The Opening Plenary for the 2024 APAP Conference, the world's premier gathering of the performing arts presenting, booking and touring industry and the annual members conference of the Association of Performing Arts Professionals.

Museum of the City of NY Celebrated NYC’s Film/TV Industry with Panel Discussion: 
•   Commissioner Pat Swinney Kaufman gave opening remarks and Deputy Director of Film Thavary Krouch participated in a panel discussion to discuss NYC’s film & TV industry and highlight the museum’s current exhibit, "This Is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture".
•    The panel was moderated by Deadline’s Jill Goldsmith.

MOME Attends Mean Girls NYC Premiere:
•   Commissioner Pat Swinney Kaufman was on hand at the NYC premiere of the new Mean Girls, the film adaptation of the hit Broadway show, alongside Lee Rosenthal of Paramount Picture who produced the film.
•   Premieres in NYC help to shine a spotlight on the talent and infrastructure of NYC’s world-renowned film & TV industry, which generates $82 billion in economic activity and supports 185K jobs.

City Celebrates First Renewable Diesel Fuel Gas Station
•   MOME’s Senior Executive Director, Policy + Programs, Shira Gans was on site at the unveiling of the city’s first gas station to offer renewable diesel fuel in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, as part of this administration’s goal to make our city greener and cleaner.
•   The new gas station unveiling, attended by members of Sprague Energy, Empire Clean and Teamsters Local 817, will combine with the city’s competitive tax incentives, diverse talent tool, and robust infrastructure, to strengthen our position as a best-in-class filming destination.

Dance/NYC Releases State of NYC Dance Report: 
•   Dance/NYC, an organization dedicated to promoting the knowledge, appreciation, practice, and performance of dance in the metropolitan New York City area, recently released the State of NYC Dance 2023: Findings from the Dance Industry Census, a comprehensive report that sheds light on the economic realities of the individuals and entities working in New York City dance today.
•    The State of NYC Dance 2023 report is the fifth iteration of this sector-wide study, using data to equip the sector with the tools to advocate for meaningful change in policies and practices that directly impact the industry and a new vision for dance in the New York City metropolitan area.
