UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES & EVENTS |
New York Music Month – June 2024: |
• The official celebration of NYC’s vibrant and dynamic music ecosystem is back with a full slate of in-person and virtual events, including concerts, performances, industry talks and workshops, happening in June across the five boroughs.

• On June 5, MOME hosted the annual NYMM conference, featuring 45+ speakers and hundreds of guests, all gathered at the NYU Skirball center to discuss the state of NYC’s music industry. |

NYC Summer of Games – June-September: |
• NYC Summer of Games is a celebration of the digital gaming community and activity in New York City. Between the months of June - September, New York City is home to several marquee gaming events each year. In partnership with various organizers, the NYC Summer of Games campaign promotes events across all five boroughs, including expos, tournaments, exhibits, workshops and programs, such as the Waffle Games, the Games for Change festival and PlayNYC.

• This initiative kicked-off on June 8 with the 2nd annual Mayor’s Cup Finals for the Minecraft Education Battle of the Boroughs esports competition at the Brooklyn Public Library. And the winners are:
○ PS. 100 Isaac Clason Elementary School, Bronx AND P.S. 084 Lillian Weber Elementary School, Manhattan (tied)
○ New Explorations into Science, Technology, and Math Middle School, Manhattan (pictured below)
○ Tottenville High School, Staten Island |

Photoville Festival – June 1-16: |
• The annual Photoville Festival is returning to Brooklyn Bridge Park and in all five boroughs of NYC with 85+ free outdoor photo exhibitions, including an opening weekend event June 1 & 2 for two full days of family-friendly activities, carefully curated photography workshops for professionals and lovers of the craft, engaging tours, and a powerfully captivating night of visual storytelling.
• With stories highlighting hope, joy, and compassion, while honoring experiences of adversity and heartbreak, Photoville aims to elevate the power of visual storytelling by fostering empathy and understanding within our communities

Tribeca Festival 2024 – June 5-16: |
• The annual festival celebrates the power of storytelling in all forms (film, TV, music, audio storytelling, games, and immersive), featuring premium premieres with the world’s biggest stars alongside the next generation of innovative creators, all on the world’s biggest stages.
• This year Tribeca will celebrate its co-founder Robert De Niro’s 80th birthday with De Niro Con, with fan experiences, set recreations, costume exhibits, behind-the-scenes chats, screenings, and reunions taking place at the Tribeca Festival Hub at Spring Studios June 13-16.

• Commissioner Kaufman attended the opening night celebration of the 23rd Tribeca Festival with the world premiere of Diane von Furstenburg: Woman in Charge, an inspiring documentary about the iconic designer and her legacy. |

Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth – June 19: |
• Along with partners at the Times Square Alliance, MOME is proud to help present the return of Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth, part of the Broadway League’s Black to Broadway initiative, a free outdoor concert centered around Black artistry and unity that will feature an entirely Black Broadway cast performing Broadway musical numbers.
• The concert will be hosted by Michael James Scott and take place in Times Square on Wednesday, June 19th from 11:00am – 12:30pm (rain or shine) as the community gathers to honor and celebrate this important holiday.

Pride in the Square – June 28 & 29: |
• MOME is proud to support, along with organizers Playbill and Times Square Alliance, the third-annual Pride in Times Square—a festival of concerts, performances, and interactive installations celebrating Pride Weekend.

NYC Public School Film Festival: |
• On May 15, MOME kicked-off the 6th Annual NYC Public School Film Festival at a screening + career fair event at the Museum of the City of New York. 200+ students were on hand to watch the public debut of their selected films, hear from a panel of industry experts about how to get into the business, and explore a film and entertainment industry career fair.
• The selected films will be broadcast for the first time on NYC Media, the official network of the city of New York on Friday, June 7. A trailer for the broadcast presentation is available here. |
