“A New York Evening with…” Series – October 2023:
•   In partnership with MOME, the GRAMMY Museum presents one more intimate performance and conversation this November:
   ○   Blonde Redhead - Tuesday, November 14 at National Sawdust
‘Made in NY’ Talks Series – Fall 2023: 
•    MOME, in partnership with the Center for Communication, is currently presenting the Fall 2023 installment of the ‘Made in NY’ Talks Series, which brings together industry leaders to share insights, information and news with New Yorkers looking to work in the media and entertainment industries.
•    The talks are in-person, free and open to the public, and include:
   ○   Set Life: Designing the Scene - Wednesday, November 1, 6:30 at the NYU Production Lab
   ○   Get in the Game: Opportunities in Sports Media - Monday, November 6, 6:30 at the SVA Theatre
   ○   Major Brands Want You!: Calling Creative Media Talent - Tuesday, November 14, 6:30 at the New School, Wollman Hall

Urbanworld Film Festival – November 1 through November 5: 
•    Urbanworld Film Festival and Innovation + Web3 Conference is back, live and in-person this fall for their 27th year, as they continue to shine the light on excellence in storytelling, innovation and community, bringing together artists, partners and audiences from around the world!

Dominican Film Festival – November 2 through November 9: 
•    The 12th Dominican Film Festival in New York City (DFFNYC) will feature more than 90 films in a celebration of Dominican filmmaking outside of the Dominican Republic.  
•    DFFNYC will screen in five venues across Manhattan with the E-Walk Regal Cinemas as its main venue, and will host more than 60 actors and filmmakers to participate in Q&A and panel discussions.

New York Comedy Festival – November 3 through November 12: 
•    The New York Comedy Festival is back and bigger than ever to bring 10 days of laughter to The Big Apple with 200+ comedians performing in 100+ shows across all five boroughs.
•    Don't miss your chance to see Dave Attell, Bill Burr, Nicole Byer, Jimmy Carr, Margaret Cho, Tim Dillon, Giggly Squad, Ilana Glazer, Brett Goldstein, Anthony Jeselnik, Matteo Lane, Sam Morril, Nick Mullen and Adam Friedland, Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, Atsuko Okatsuka, Pod Meets World, Donnell Rawlings, Jeff Ross, Robyn Schall, Daniel Sloss, Stand Up for Heroes, Michelle Wolf and many more perform at NYC's most prestigious venues, including The Apollo, BAM, the Beacon Theatre, Madison Square Garden, The Theater at Madison Square Garden, Town Hall and The Venue at Hard Rock Hotel New York.

DOC NYC – November 8 through November 26:
•    DOC NYC, America’s largest documentary festival, returns for its 14th edition, with more than 200 films and events in person in New York, and hundreds of films available online across the country. Discover emerging filmmakers and catch new work from documentary greats like Wim Wenders.
•    The DOC NYC All Film Pass gets you access to every film screening during the live, in-person festival PLUS films on the festival's virtual screening platform from November 8-26 - with a special early bird discount available through October 18 only. The full festival lineup will be announced on October 12.

That’s So Dope NYC Life Premiere – November 23:
•    Celebrating November as Hip Hop History Month, NYC Media’s flagship TV channel, NYC Life, will premiere an extended half-hour special edition of That’s So Dope, Hip Hop Beyond Music, spotlighting the legendary Dapper Dan of Harlem and photographer Henry Chalfant, among many other trailblazing artists.
•    Premiering November 23rd at 8:30pm, a trailer for the show is available on the NYC Media website here
A LOOK BACK
Mayor Adams Breaks Ground at Sunset Pier 94 Studios: 
•   A first stop on the administration’s Working People’s Tour, Mayor Eric Adams was joined by Deputy Mayor Maria Torres-Springer, NYCEDC President and CEO Andrew Kimball, MOME Commissioner Pat Swinney Kaufman, and partners, at the groundbreaking for a $350 million public-private investment on Manhattan’s west side that will bring jobs to NYers and help make New York City even more competitive with other comparable markets.
•   Sunset Pier 94 Studios will be a first-of-its-kind space, home to both state-of-the-art film, television, and content production technology.

NYC Media Honored with Four NY Emmy Awards: 
•   Mayor Adams attended the 66th Annual NY Emmy Awards where NYC Media, the City of New York’s broadcast network and production group, received four awards from a total of seven nominations.
•    As part of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME), NYC Media informs, educates and entertains New Yorkers about the city's diverse people, neighborhoods, government services, attractions and activities. Since a rebranding in 2004, NYC Media has garnered 86 NY Emmy Award wins. The channel recently celebrated its 55th anniversary.
•   All four of NYC Media’s 2023 NY Emmy Awards were presented to Once Upon a City, a signature animated collection of amusing, and surprisingly true stories capturing New York City’s eccentric history, from the outrageous to the fantastic. Getting Your Game Funded: A Conversation with Investors & Insiders: 
•   Created in partnership with NYCEDC, Playcrafting and MOME, and hosted by Everyrealm, this panel explored paths and strategies to get a digital game funded in NYC, part of the city’s commitment to making NYC a global digital games hub.
•   Representatives from ENIAC Ventures, the Black in Gaming Foundation and Andreesen Horowitz gave feedback on topics relevant to early-stage game development, including tips for approaching and presenting to investors and advice for managing investors and growing a company post-funding.

‘Made in NY’ Post Production Training Program Graduation: 
•   Commissioner Kaufman attended the 17th cohort graduation of the program, bringing the total number of graduates to 244, with 162 placed in jobs thus far.
•   The program, in partnership with Brooklyn Workforce Innovations (BWI), works to provide opportunities in NYC’s $82 billion film/tv industry.

MediaMKRS Graduation: 
•   Deputy Commissioner Kwame Amoaku attended the 2023 MediaMKRS Career Exploration Program Graduation. The event brought the total number of New Yorkers who have graduated from the program to 46, with nine currently employed in NYC’s film/TV industry and 14 currently in internships.
•   Since 2019 and in partnership with Reel Works, the MediaMKRS Career Exploration program has helped to ensure the jobs that fuel our creative workforce and economy go to New Yorkers.
