Poem in Your Pocket

What will your poem be?

New York City is hosting the annual Poem in Your Pocket Day celebration on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in honor of National Poetry Month. To join in the excitement, write your own poem or borrow one from your favorite poet; just make sure to carry a poem in your pocket to share with your friends, family, classmates, and colleagues.

All month long, organizations will present poetry-inspired events throughout the five boroughs. Follow the #PocketPoem and #NPM19 on social media to see what’s happening for National Poetry Month and Poem in Your Pocket Day. Residents are also encouraged to tweet their odes to New York City using #PoetweetNYC, and @NYCulture will share some favorites.
