In New York City, there are tons of opportunities to meet pets available for adoption, learn about other species that call the Big Apple home, make a difference for our furry and feathered friends, and more.

The Mayor’s Office of Animal Welfare (MOAW) Events Calendar is a public resource designed to foster awareness of animal-related events and initiatives throughout New York City.

This calendar may include pet adoption and dog licensing events, volunteer or foster orientations/trainings, educational activities, clinics and resource/career fairs, celebrations of companion/assistance animals, and wildlife appreciation events that are held throughout the five boroughs, as well as online.

Please note, while several organizations in New York City offer free vaccine clinics for cats and dogs, such events aren’t likely to be included here, as they tend to be advertised locally.
