The Commission works closely with businesses – large and small – throughout the City to ensure that employers and businesses understand how to comply with the City Human Rights Law. The Commission engages with various chambers of commerce, Business Improvement Districts, small businesses, legal counsel to employers and businesses, and merchant associations in several ways, including:

  • partnering with business entities to provide know your obligations forums and resource fairs to the business community;
  • conducting business corridor walkthroughs along many of New York City's major business corridors to provide resources and literature on the City Human Rights Law including required posters and legal notices, as well as our Businesses Brochure to help businesses understand their responsiblities under the Law.
  • connecting small businesses to other City agency partners including Small Business Services; and
  • speaking at events, forums, and conferences before employers and business entities.

If you would like the Commission to work with your business community, contact crb@cchr.nyc.gov. If you have questions regarding how to comply with the City Human Rights Law, email policy@cchr.nyc.gov.
