The census is money.
The census isn't just a count — it's how our communities get the funding they need for some of our most important public programs.
From schools to infrastructure, to our health system, emergency services, senior centers, and much more, our communities rely on the census to make sure we have the resources to meet everyone's needs. Simply put, the more New Yorkers are counted, the more money we receive. But when we're not counted, it's like we don't exist, and we miss out on the money we deserve over the next decade.
So to help keep NYC communities fully funded for the next decade, we need to make sure that all New Yorkers are counted. Check out the graphics below and share them with your friends, families, and neighbors to remind them of the importance of being counted!
Remember: everyone counts in the census, no matter your age, immigration or housing status, or any other factor. It only takes a few minutes, and all responses are confidential under federal law.
