NYC's Animal Care and Control centers rescue approximately 43,000 homeless and abandoned animals each year. Donate dog and cat canned food and toys, pet carriers, pet beds, aquarium tanks, disposable feeding trays, thick blankets and towels, laundry detergent, bleach, among many other things. All donations to AC&C are tax deductible as permissible by law.

Materials for the Arts, a program of the Department of Cultural Affairs, provides over 2,800 cultural organizations and public schools with supplies they need and helps to preserve our environment by distributing reusable goods. Some items in constant demand include paper, posterboard, and frames. For pick-up and drop-off information, call 718-729-2065 or email donations@mfta.nyc.gov. Extra volunteer hands are always needed to help staff the warehouse!
The City's Family Justice Centers serve victims of domestic violence and their families and provide the help they need to begin to rebuild their lives. Baby products, maternity clothes and toiletries are always in demand. Materials for the Arts distributes donated new and reusable furniture and equipment to public schools and organizations throughout the five boroughs. Most wanted items include: chairs, especially office chairs; computers (no more than four years old) and related items including scanners, printers, and fax machines; projectors, screens and video equipment. Other in demand household items include irons, dishes, silverware, vases, lamps, wallpaper and decorating supplies, and miscellaneous items such as ladders and telephones.
