Thiago Oliveira Loureiro is an Associate of Public-Private Partnerships & Economic Development at the NYC Mayor's Office for International Affairs. He works closely with the team to foster global collaboration and enhance NYC's position as a leading global city. Thiago's role involves facilitating the exchange of best practices across thematic areas, including public safety, housing, and economic development. His role also supports youth initiatives, including the NYC Junior Ambassadors program. Finally, Thiago supports the Office in advancing trade and investment initiatives with Europe and the Americas. He works closely with European consulates and Asian United Nations missions, ensuring productive and strategic international partnerships.
Driven by a passion for global cooperation and economic development, Thiago is committed to creating impactful connections supporting cities' growth and success worldwide.
Before becoming an associate, Thiago was a translation intern who translated websites and resources from English to French to promote safety for LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers who sought to escape precarious conditions in their home countries. Thiago also worked in the hospitality industry and volunteered extensively for the Red Door Pantry.
Thiago graduated from Pace University with a B.A. in Language, Culture, and World Trade. He is fluent in Portuguese and conversant in Italian, Spanish and French.
