- NYC Junior Ambassadors empowers 7th graders in all five boroughs of New York City to become actively engaged with the United Nations and its mission of addressing the most pressing challenges in the world.
- In 2018, New York City created the Voluntary Local Review (VLR), a process for reporting on our local progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals directly to the United Nations. Part of the Global Vision | Urban Action program, the VLR is now a global movement, with more than 330 of local and regional governments around the world formally committed to the VLR Declaration.
- NYC is the proud home to the United Nations Headquarters. Our Office creates opportunities to fully integrate the UN into the fabric of our City and ensure that all New Yorkers benefit from its presence.

The office cultivates critical partnerships with the international community that strengthen our abilities as a global leader. With one out of three New Yorkers foreign-born, and over 200 languages spoken in our homes and on our streets, we are honored to host the United Nations Headquarters and the largest diplomatic corps in the world, who play an important role in serving New York's vibrant and diverse communities.
