Message from the Queens Borough President

On behalf of the many residents, businesses, local stakeholders, and City agencies that were involved in the development of this document, it is our great pleasure to present the Jamaica Now Action Plan. This Action Plan creates an ambitious agenda for an equitable, vibrant and livable community around one of our City's great central business districts and inter-modal transportation hubs - Jamaica, Queens. Under the leadership of our offices, several City agencies have collaborated to lead an intensive community engagement process to identify ways Jamaica can build on its extraordinary assets to become one of the most attractive and vibrant centers in the City and the Region.

The creation of this Action Plan presents an incredible opportunity to build upon existing assets and complete a series of investments to help Jamaica realize its great potential as one of New York's most diverse and livable neighborhoods. By increasing and diversifying employment and economic opportunities, the Jamaica Now Action Plan lays out a series of short and long-term projects and recommendations that will strengthen Jamaica as a center for growth. The initiatives included in the Action Plan will improve overall quality of life and business environment for those who want to live, work, invest and play in Jamaica!
