Youth Explorer

Youth Explorers learn about correction law, conflict resolution, stress management, career readiness, discipline, ethics and life skills in a fun and supportive environment.


To be a New York City Department of Correction Youth Explorer you must:
•    Be a student, between the ages of 14 and 20 years old
•    Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 or a 70%

The NYCDOC Youth Explorer program is affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America’s Law Enforcement Exploring program and Youth Explorers have the opportunity to compete at local, state and national competitions.
