Operations

Large law offices need substantial, dedicated staff to support their day-to-day business processing. The Law Department's Operations Division consists of seven units with specialized areas of expertise. Their respective talents combined support the Department's legal and administrative staff.

Operations' mission is twofold. First, it provides centralized production support for Law Department employees, including but not limited to legal processing, case docketing, electronic editing, courier services, composition and duplication of hundreds of documents daily, and the serving and filing of legal papers. Second, the Division seeks out methods to streamline operational protocols and produces specialized reports, including the Mayor's Management Report and governmental audits.

The seven service units that make up the Operations Division are Central Services, Communications & Docketing, Division Office (which manages the Division, provides computer based training and document assembly services, and analyzes business operations), Document and Data Processing, Duplication and Finishing, Process and Courier Services, and Electronic Information.
