The New York Public Library strives to ensure that everyone is welcome and has access to the full range of information, services and programs that are offered in their neighborhood branches and research libraries.
They offer talking books, DVD and video with descriptive text, JAWs screenreading software, MAGic screen magnification software, personal reading machines, technology workshops, braille study groups and more for people with Visual or Print disabilities.
They also offer ASL interpretation, CART, assistive listening devices, hearing loops, captioned videos and DVDs for people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
For individuals with Learning, Cognitive or Developmental Disabilities they offer movie screening, art workshops, computer classes, sensory friendly storytime and playtime for children, online resources for video storybooks and animated picture books, as well as talking books and players.
For individuals with physical disabilities, they offer talking books and books are available by mail.

The Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library provides talking books, magazines and braille for people who are blind, low vision or are otherwise physically unable to read standard print.
