The Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) Disaster Resilience Resource Network (“Network”) is comprised of governmental and non-government organizations. The Network is led by MOPD in close coordination with New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM). The Network meets quarterly or as otherwise needed for information sharing as it relates to emergency response, recovery, and resiliency to people with disabilities.
The mission of the Network, as highlighted in its name, is to create an opportunity for networking across city and state agencies and organizations to provide the community with resources and information that is specific to people with disabilities before, during and after disasters.
Identify and problem-solve potential impediments impacting equal access for people with disabilities to recovery resources available during emergencies;
The Network is committed to bringing together government agencies and the disability community.
