Engaging with the youth of New York City and providing them opportunities to learn about and enjoy different cultural experiences is an important part of building our communities.
Here are some of the children's events that MOSPCE produces:
October 27-29, 2017
Since its inception in 2014, Gracie Halloween has opened its doors to thousands of children from all 5 boroughs. For this special event, Gracie Mansion is converted into a haunted house, the lawn is transformed into a graveyard, and the tent is filled with tricks and treats.
Children from shelters from the Bronx, Manhattan and Queens, joined the First Lady to trim the Gracie Mansion holiday tree with their handmade ornaments.
Middle School children grooved to their own beats at a Jazz improvisation workshop hosted by First Lady Chirlane McCray and led by George E. Lewis, Vice Chair & Professor of American Music at Columbia University.
