2022 Black History Month Event

In honor of Black History Month, Mayor Eric Adams hosted "Bridging the Gap: a panel discussion on the ways health, good, race, and culture intersect,” at The Apollo Theater in Harlem.

The program began with opening remarks provided by Jonelle Procope, President and CEO of the Apollo Theater. Mayor Adams then provided remarks. Dr. Michelle Morse, the Deputy Commissioner of the Center for Health and Equity and Community Wellness, moderated a panel that consisted of Padmore John, Acting Assistant Commissioner of the Bureau of Harlem Neighborhood Health, Angela Yee, American Radio Personality, and Jenique Jones, Vice President of Program Operations & Policy of City Harvest. They discussed health and food within the Black community. After the discussion, guests were able to peruse resource tables hosted by Plant Powered, Black VegFest, and DOHMH.
