David D. Rohde was appointed Interim Executive Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel on September 19, 2022.
David joined NYCHA in 2020 as Senior Vice President for Legal Affairs and Managing Attorney. He brought with him substantial leadership experience in public and private law department management. Together with his colleagues in the Office of the General Counsel, he successfully restructured NYCHA’s legal operations and helped drive overall organizational excellence by supporting and enhancing attorney and staff professionalism, building greater capacity and efficiency, reforming policies and reducing case backlogs, and being a leader in NYCHA’s efforts to reimagine and transform the ways it serves residents.
Prior to joining NYCHA, David led a high-level practice group as Senior Director of Consulting Services at Epiq, a global technology-enabled services leader. He developed operational reforms for large organizations, corporate law departments, and government entities worldwide, becoming a recognized leader in information governance, risk, and compliance, as well as international data privacy.
David started his legal career at the New York City Law Department where, for more than 10 years, he was a litigator and a principal legal, policy, and management advisor on law and technology issues. He brings vast experience and a sophisticated data-driven approach to the management of NYCHA’s Law Department and its many initiatives.
David attended the NYU School of Law, where he earned a Master of Laws degree; the Touro Law Center, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree summa cum laude; and Bryant University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
