Deputy Commissioner: Kaz Daughtry
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Operations oversees the NYPD Joint Operations Center, which monitors all police-related incidents throughout the city. Additionally, they lead combined-operations with various City, State, and Federal agencies to address large-scale and catastrophic events. They plan inter-agency tabletop and practical exercises to assess responses to potential threats like terror attacks, active shooter situations, and natural disasters. They also respond to critical situations, including officer-involved shootings, major demonstrations, and other significant incidents, to coordinate assets on scene. While also serving as the NYPD City Hall Liaison for the Mayor of New York City, they facilitate the integration of advanced crime-fighting technologies, such as drones and subway scanners, into police operations.
