Outreach

The OCME Family Outreach Unit is dedicated to conducting diligent searches to locate and notify next-of-kin, to facilitate in both the Identifications process and the release of decedents for final disposition. The Family Outreach Unit works closely and compassionately with family and loved ones to provide support, external resources and assistance as they navigate the process to making final arrangements. In the event family is not be located, the decedent may be referred for interment at City Cemetery on Hart Island.
