Notice of Proposed New Mayor’s Office Rule – Green Fast Track for Housing
Pursuant to §1043 of the City Administrative Procedure Act this is the notice for a proposed new Mayor’s Office rule and adoption of an existing City Planning Commission rule. Green Fast Track for Housing would streamline the development process for small- and medium-sized residential developments by adopting a new Type II rule under SEQRA and CEQR to exempt housing developments up to a certain size from further environmental review by the Mayor’s Office.
Green Fast Track for Housing is a proposed rule and must go through NYC’s City Administrative Procedure Act (CAPA) rulemaking process. As part of CAPA, the Mayor’s Office will accept written comments until the closure of the public comment period, which is on February 17, 2024. On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, the Mayor’s Office and the City Planning Commission will hold a joint public hearing. The Mayor’s Office will then review comments and make modifications as appropriate before the rules go into effect.
Attendees who need reasonable accommodation for a disability such as a sign language translation should contact the Department of City Planning by calling 212-720-3508 or emailing accessibilityinfo@planning.nyc.gov by January 24, 2024.
